How often do you wash your dog’s beds?

I have some blankets/sheets in my dogs crates, I wash about every two weeks, sometimes every week. they also have a blanket in front of the woodstove that gets washed the same time. I know this is a dumb question, but just curious if i am a little obsessive about keeping the dog beds clean. lol

are dog collars made so that its harder to break off? i find that the cat collars have better designs and theyre the same sizes as the small dog collars.

I am in need of a dog bed. my friends have a few different kinds, but all seem to be forever filthy! They are always buying new ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
also, are heated dog beds neccessary?? My pup sleeps down stairs and it does get a bit chilly in the winter, but is the heated bed safe?
My dog sleeps in her crate every night and goes in during the day just to be in her space. Should a bed go inside the crate or stay outside?

They are indoor & outdoor dogs, I just don’t like them in the house when I’m not home (like 5 hours a day) or at night. They have a 10′x5′ kennel with dog beds in my insulated, heated garage at a constant 55-60 degrees. When it gets cold outside, my girlfriend FREAKS out when I put them in their kennel at night. I personally think they are probably more comfortable there than in the 70 degree house.

I own a whippet who is most happy when he’s bunched up at the foot of a bed beneath a pile of covers, or between two fluffy couch cushions. Most of the time, we tuck him under a blanket so he can stay warm, but when we’re out of the house he’ll climb in the bed to try to warm up. Are there beds that are made special for dogs like this? All I’ve ever seen is the normal, flat, open type of dog bed.
